Pastor Don Ibbotson has ministered at Augusta Bible Baptist Church for fifteen years and counting. He is thankful for his upbrininging on the family farm which gave him his work ethic. Pastor Ibbotson obtained an MA in history at Northwest Missouri State University. It was during his years there that he trusted Christ as his Saviour through the influence of a Christian campus organization.
Once he finished his degree, Don followed the call to ministry and began studying for the pastorate. He originally trained to be a Methodist pastor and served as such, but the conviction of believer's baptism and the inerrancy and sufficiency of the Scripture led him to Faith Baptist Bible College where he finished his pastoral degree and married his beloved wife Ruth. The Ibbotsons first served at Mount Ayr Regular Baptist Church in Iowa and there experienced the joy of having their first three children--Joel, Anna, and Jeremy. The family then moved to Michigan where Don spent time studying under Pastor Brent Branham at Cedar Creek Bible Church in Delton.
In 1997 Pastor Ibbotson accepted the call of this church. The Ibbotson family soon added two children, Callie and Isaac. Pastor Ibbotson enjoys this church's love for Christ and the Word and its willingness to serve. He and others in the church have trained for and received counseling certification through the ministry of NANC. Pastor Ibbotson plans to continue this church's mission to glorify God by winning people to Jesus Christ and equipping them to be more faithful disciples.
